Breech Birth and Home Birth information - New Zealander Maggie Banks' website with information on breech birth and home birth in New Zealand.  Also available to order from here is NZ midwife-matriach Joan Donley's book 'Compendium for a healthy pregnancy and a normal birth'.

Acupressure for Labour & Birth -  Acupressure Techniques for Pain Relief in Child Birth by Debra Betts.  With a background in nursing Debra graduated with a Diploma in Acupuncture from the London College of Acupuncture in 1989. Returning to New Zealand in 1991 she established a private practice specialising in pregnancy and womenÂ’s health care. She currently resides in Wellington, New Zealand with her husband and 3 children.

La Leche League New Zealand - "To help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother."

Natural Fertility New Zealand - "Natural Fertility New Zealand is uniquely placed to support women from puberty to menopause. NFNZ Educators can teach an individual or couple in a clinic to assess their individual fertility requirements to either avoid or achieve pregnancy. We also offer an education service to facilitate correspondence on sexual and reproductive health to groups."

Attachment Parenting - "Attachment Parenting is a philosophy based in the practice of nurturing parenting methods that create strong emtional bonds, also known as secure attachment, between the infant and parent(s).  This style of parenting encourages responsiveness to the infant or child's emtional needs and develops trust that their emotional needs will be met.  As a result this strong attachment helps the child develop secure, empathic, peaceful and enduring relationships."

Ask Dr Sears; the world's leading authority in 'attachment parenting' - take a little time to look through this comprehensive website which answers such questions as: Should I share sleep with my baby?  What can I expect through my pregnancy, step by stepWhen will my baby sleep through the night?

Nurture NZ - Vida Rye (Doula, Infant Massage Instructor, CalmBirth Practitioner) emigrated from the UK in 2002.  She is passionate about helping women during pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period.  Her website covers her range of interests and is worth a good look.  Vida and her husband had their first baby girl in 2004 and their second baby girl in 2009, both born at home in water.  She is based in Wellington.
